Staff Favourites
It's never easy to pin down one's elusive all-time favourites. And yet, there will always be that handful of books which every reader could happily fall back on, if pushed to do so (such as when anticipating a shipwrecked voyage among remote Pacific islands, etc.). In our case, some of these books are childhood classics whose first impression has never quite worn off; others are more recent revelations, discovered either serendipitously or through an inspired recommendation; some still hold pride of place on our shelves, regardless of how thumbed and dog-eared their pages may be; while others are quite simply too precious to warrant that coveted second reading.
